PATRICIA SUE WETHERINGTON MOATS- OBITUARY
Patricia Sue Wetherington Moats of New Bern, NC passed away on June 1, 2015. A memorial service at Tabernacle Baptist Church will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
Known as Patti to friends and family, she was born May 12, 1936 and had recently moved to the Kansas City, MO area to be closer to her daughter.
Patti attended New Bern High School where she was also a cheerleader. She most recently worked for the NC Employment Security Commission (Job Service) in both New Bern and Morehead City before retiring in 1998.
As an active member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Patti participated as a Sunday School teacher, sang with both the adult and Joy choirs, and frequently went on the Senior Adult trips.
Patti was preceded in death by her father Pat Wetherington, her mother Nell Wetherington and her brother Nick Wetherington. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and John Sherley, her granddaughter Jessica Fisher, and two grandsons John Sherley and Brian Sherley of Lees Summit, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Leukemia Society or Tabernacle Baptist Church.
