SYBIL KELLUM BROOKS-OBITUARY

Asheville – Sybil Kellum Brooks, 79, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 following a lengthy illness of Pulmonary Fibrosis.

She was the daughter of the late Joe R. and Lillia Sanders Kellum.

In earlier years, Mrs. Brooks worked in Banking and did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Class and was Sunday School Secretary for many, many years. She was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed watching ACC Basketball.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry of the home; son, Todd (Stephanie) of Suwanee, GA; daughter, Cindy Littrell (Paul) of Weaverville; four grandchildren, one special granddaughter, Tiffany Johnson who helped take care of her; sisters, Jean DeBruhl of New Bern and Frances Heath of Cove City and sister-in-law, Jill Oheme of Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the chapel of Anders- Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Chase and Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
