ALEXANDER REDDITT TUTEN - OBITUARY
Alexander "Sandy" Redditt Tuten, 67, died Friday, November 28, 2003.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Vanceboro. Burial will be in Boyd-Redditt Cemetery at Edward.
Mr. Tuten grew up in
the Edward community of
Beaufort County, moved
with his family to the New
Bern area and graduated
from New Bern High
School and Wake Forest
University.
He was a career employee of the State of North Carolina. He worked in the Department of Archives and History for several years. He worked for Department of Corrections for 35 years as an administrator and later as a teacher in the juvenile section. Following his retirement he served as Director of the New Bern Civic Theater.
He resided in Southern
Pines from 1970 to 1994
where he was active in
Christ Episcopal Church.
For the past eight years he made his home with his
mother in the Ernul community and was an active
member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and served
on the Vestry.
He is survived by his
mother, Zelma Ernull of
the home; daughter, Laurie
Tuten and her partner,
Loretta Dillon, of Goldsboro; son, Stephen Tuten of
Tucson, Arizona; and
brother, David E. Tuten
and wife, Kathy, of Charlotte.
The family will receive
fiends at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro, Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
