BETTY LOIS WELLS OWEN - OBITUARY

Betty Lois Wells Owen died Monday, August 9, 2004.
 
Betty was well known for her outgoing and friendly personality. She had a keen interest in the well-being of others and always had a friendly word for her many friends. She was artistic and had a unique ability to copy Indian pottery in a beautiful and flowing style.

Betty had an ability to organize and manage situations and groups. She was a volunteer for 32 years in Miami, Fla., and Oshkosh, Wis., for non-profit organizations. She served as a Girl Scout leader for nine years with troops of 3S girls each.

In occupation, she was primarily a wife to her husband and a loving mother to her children. She had also been employed as a supervisor for Heritage Savings of Hales Corners, Wis., for 10 years and held various other occupations for short periods of time.

Betty will be missed by her loving and supportive husband and family. She was a rose without thorns. May she rest in blessed peace.

Betty Lois Wells Owen was born September 20, 1936to Ralph Coley Wells and Myrtle Barnes Wells in
York, S.C. She married Seward E. Owen on August 14, 1955 in Havelock.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathryn Owen, Oak Creek, Wis., and Sandra (Greg) Kozik, Orland Park, Ill.; two sons, Seth E. Owen, Pewaukee, Wis., and Eric Owen, New Berlin, Wis.; four grand-children, Matthew and Jennifer Richardson, Anthony and Jessica Kozik.

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2004 at Cotten Chapel.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
