This website has been constructed to provide a link for the many families of descendants of William Perry Teague and his siblings. Information leads us to believe he was born 16 January, 1845 in an area west and possibly south of Charlotte, NC, but controversy questions whether it was in NC or SC. The 1860 census taken on August 20 in the New Centre area (now known as Clover, SC) of York County, SC, list a William Teague aged 15, son of another William (and Mary) Teague. He is believed to be William Perry Teague, because it is the only census data of anyone that closely matches his birth date, and matches other info that substatiates he was born in 1845. The census indicates both parents and all children were born in North Carolina. Clover, SC, is about 3 miles south of the North Carolina line and Gaston County, NC. Many other persons have assumed this to be him.

Unless proven otherwise, this site will assume that to be the case and hopes that others in that line can provide additional information. Anyone with any additional knowledge are encouraged to contact us with any additional information they may have, and that information may be added to assist other family members in better understanding their heritage.
