MARGARET GUTHRIE JONES - OBITUARY
Marrgaret GuthrieJones, 71, on Saturday, April 28 at 4:30 p.m. went to be
with the Lord. She fought
a courageous battle with heart disease, always posinve each day.
Margaret was born January 1, 1936. She will be remembered by all who knew her.
She started out her
work career with Coplon
Smith McCotter's Furniture Store, Tryon Gas
Company, was cashier
for Pepsi for many years
and worked at the Craven
County Library. Margaret
finished out her career
as bookkeeper at Ernul's
Locksmith and Access
Control and still after retirement would go in and
assist.
She was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother
and devoted to her two
dogs, Midnight and Kavhill. She will be remem
bered for her kind heart
and wonderful sense of
humor right to the end.
Margaret was a member
of the Craven Chapter of
the Eastern Star, the Red
Hat Society, and the Local
AARP Chapter. She enjoyed collecting elephants
and lighthouses, painted
oil paintings, and did some
beautiful needlework.
She \vas preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret Carrow, grandfather, Tom Carrow and mother, Nancy K. Guthrie.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Linwood Jones; one son, Larry Mares; and grandsons, Joseph Mares and Michael Mares.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1, 2007, from 6 to 7:30 p.m, with services to be held at 7:30 p.m. at Cotten Chapel with Rev. Grady Tucker officiating.
